Bodyweight Bootcamp at Nimble Fitness

If you’re in the New York City area and you’ve wanted to train with me, now is your chance!

Beginning Saturday January 7, I’ll be bringing my bootcamp workout class to Nimble Fitness, NYC’s #1 personal training facility.

This 12-week series will meet every Saturday morning at 10am from January 7 until March 24. Enrollment will be limited to 15 people.

The Bodyweight Bootcamp workout utilizes old-school bodyweight calisthenics as well as the TRX suspension system to challenge your strength, agility and cardio endurance. This fast-paced 50 minute workout class will jump start your fitness in the new year and help you push yourself to the next level of strength and conditioning.

    My knee crackle and pops (no pain though) during 1 legged pistol squats. Is this a cause for concern in your experience?

      If there’s no pain, that’s a good sign.  Though I can’t say for sure if you’re performing them safely without actually seeing you do a few in person.

    I don’t live in NYC (in fact I don’t even live in the US) so unfortunately I can’t participate in these workout classes. 

    But I just ordered your book instead! 

    I’ve been working out using calisthenics exclusively since July, and I’m a regular reader of your blog posts. The simplicity and sincerity of your approach to fitness (and life) is really inspiring, and visiting your site regularly keeps the motivation going. I’m looking forward to reading your book – hopefully I’ll get it around christmas time:-) 

    When I visit NYC the next time, I’ll try to book a workout session with you!

        Hi Al,

        I received the book this morning, and I finished reading it a bit ago.. It’s a good book, and it definitely contains some advice, which I’ll apply right away. Especially the part about not obsessing about perfect six pack abs:-)

    Hi Al, would love to come but unfortunately I am no New Yorker either. Can you let us know what exercises you are doing with the TRX? I like the TRX and have plenty of their DVDs but I think they are overselling it a bit. Never got why I should do squats or lunges with the TRX instead of pure bodyweight. Also think some of the stuff on the TRX DVDs is not really back friendly (like the suspine pull through or the suspended crunch).
